Music is also a means to express our personal devotion to love for God. When we gather in the church sanctuary or in some other setting, music is a part of our worship. Our music ministry does not mean demonstrating God's glory by showing how beautiful we can sing or play, nor will God be exalted in our striving to achieve musical perfection. Our call can be found in what Jesus called the greatest commandment: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." (Matt 22:37) When our desire is to love the Lord. we will make every effort to offer our best to Him. This desire is reflected in music ministry. Whether we sing a great hymn of the faith, clap to the tune of a contemporary chorus, or listen to a classical anthem from the choir, we want to glorify the Lord and honor Jesus Christ in all we do.
