"How to Become a Christian"

A person does not unconsciously develop a Christian life.  When one makes a decision to become a Christian, one chooses to trust and follow Jesus Christ.  The Christian faith is not inherited, no one can make this all important decision for another.  God does not force anyone to follow him.   God invites us.

The Steps to become a Christian are clearly revealed:

1)  TURN FROM YOUR SINFUL AND SELFISH WAYS. The only way you can enjoy God's eternal companionship is to repent or turn from selfishness and sin. "He commands all people everywhere to repent"  (Acts 17:30).  Jesus said, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel"  (Mark 1:15, RSV).  You must make an "about face" in the direction your life is taking.  You must turn from your own selfish way and turn to Christ.

2)  BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST.   You must receive Christ as  your Lord and Savior, believing that Christ forgives your sins and gives you eternal life.  The Bible says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved"  (Acts 16:31).   "To all who receive him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God"  (John 1:12).

3)  FOLLOW THE COMMANDS OF CHRIST.  Jesus said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments"  (John 14:15).  This means that you will constantly seek Christ's help in order that you may be a loyal, stalwart follower, obedient to his commands, living a joyful, radiant, dedicated Christian Life.
